It's Game on for Conservatives at CPAC

Are you a conservative looking to blow off steam at CPAC? You?ve got a few options.

The annual Conservative Political Action Conference?isn?t all work and no play; there are games and other activities in the exhibit hall at National Harbor, Md., to keep attendees busy in between all the talks on fiscal conservatism, immigration, and the Benghazi attacks.

The National Rifle Association?s laser-shoot booth is a typical hit among conference-goers, says NRA staffer Diane Danielson. Participants can choose from 13 different games, ranging from regular ol? target shooting to an African safari hunt.

?It?s kind of a nice diversion in between a lot of the other serious stuff,? Danielson says. ?If we?re not busy, we get to do a little training, too.?

You can get a different kind of target practice in with a basketball shooting game, courtesy of Generation Opportunity, a group focused on young people.

?We thought we?d have a little millennial madness,? group president Evan Feinberg said. ?One out of six young people are out of a job, and that?s madness.?

If highlighting unemployment in the game pitch is kind of a downer, the group is also cohosting a happy hour later in the evening, and has a raffle drawing for iPad minis.

Attendees can also take home some mementos, by snapping photos with everyone from former Rep. Allen West to a man dressed up in a full-fledged Transformers costume, who is stalking the halls of CPAC as part of a ?Transform Your State? campaign to promote a book by Travis Brown. West seemed to be the bigger hit, with crowds forming around him as he walked around the conference.
