(AP) ? A series of coordinated bombings shattered Shiite neighborhoods and struck at Iraqi security forces Sunday, killing at least 26 in attacks that one official described as a rallying call by al-Qaida just days after dozens of militants escaped from prison.

The blasts brought September's death toll from sectarian violence to nearly 200 people ? a grim, above-average monthly total for the period since U.S. troops left last year. The steady pace of attacks has worked to undermine confidence in the government.

"The people are fed up with the killings in Iraqi cities," said Ammar Abbas, 45, a Shiite and government employee who lives in a Baghdad neighborhood near one of the bombings. "The government officials should feel shame for letting their people die at the hands of terrorists."

Police said the wave of explosions stretched from the restive but oil-rich city of Kirkuk in the north to the southern Shiite town of Kut, wounding at least 94 people. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks, but bombings are a hallmark of al-Qaida in Iraq, the Sunni insurgency that has been struggling for years to goad Shiite militias back toward civil war.

A key Shiite lawmaker said the bombings likely sought to galvanize al-Qaida in the wake of a prison break last Friday in Saddam Hussein's northern hometown of Tikrit. Scores of inmates escaped ? including as many as 47 convicted al-Qaida militants ? in a massive security lapse that the government acknowledged had help from inside.

"Al-Qaida leaders have no intention of leaving this country or letting Iraqis live in peace," said Hakim al-Zamili, a Shiite member of parliament's security committee. "The jailbreak in Tikrit has boosted al-Qaida's morale in Iraq and thus we should expect more attacks in the near future."

"The situation in Iraq is still unstable," al-Zamili added. "And repetition of such attacks shows that our security forces are still unqualified to deal with the terrorists."

Spokesmen for the government and Baghdad's military command could not immediately be reached for comment.

Sunday's deadliest attack struck the town of Taji, a former al-Qaida stronghold just north of Baghdad. Police said three explosive-rigged cars in a Shiite neighborhood went off within minutes of each other, killing eight and wounding 28 in back-to-back blasts that began around 7:15 a.m.

At almost the same time, in Baghdad, police said a suicide bomber set off his explosives-packed car in the northwest Shiite neighborhood of Shula. One person was killed and seven wounded. Police could not immediately identify the target.

"So many people were hurt. A leg of a person was amputated," lamented Shula resident Naeem Frieh. "What have those innocent people done to deserve this?"

The chain reaction of blasts continued throughout the morning, petering off around noon.

Another suicide bomber drove a minibus into a security checkpoint in Kut, located 160 kilometers (100 miles) southeast of Baghdad. Maj. Gen. Hussein Abdul-Hadi Mahbob said three police officers were killed and five wounded.

A military patrol hit a roadside bomb in Tarmiyah, about an hour north of Baghdad, killing two soldiers and wounding six passers-by, officials said.

And car bombs exploded outside the northern city of Kirkuk, the northeastern towns of Balad Ruz and Khan Bani Saad in Diyala province, and in the town of Madain outside Baghdad. In all, seven people were killed.

Also in Baghdad, a double car bomb struck the mostly Shiite neighborhood of Karradah in the most recent episode of an all-too-familiar insurgent tactic. The first explosion came as a security patrol passed, killing a police officer and a bystander, and wounding eight other people. As emergency responders rushed to the scene, the second car blew up, killing three passers-by and injuring 12, according to officials.

An Associated Press cameraman was knocked to the ground in the second explosion and an AP photographer was slightly injured.

All of the casualties were confirmed by Iraqi security and health officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not allowed to release the information.

Earlier this summer, the Iraqi wing of al-Qaida, also called the Islamic State of Iraq, launched a campaign dubbed "Breaking the Walls," which aimed at retaking strongholds from which it was driven by the American military after sectarian fighting peaked in 2007.

The insurgent group has for years had a hot-and-cold relationship with the global terror network's leadership. Both shared the goal of targeting the U.S. military in Iraq and, to an extent, undermining the Shiite government that replaced Saddam Hussein's regime. But al-Qaida leaders Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahri distanced themselves from the Iraqi militants in 2007 for also killing Iraqi civilians instead of focusing on Western targets.

But even before U.S. troops withdrew last December, the insurgency sought to taunt Shiite militias and undermine Iraq's beleaguered Shiite-led government through near-monthly spectacular attacks that usually came on the same day in different places across the country, leaving scores of Shiites and security forces dead.

So far this year, the deadly trend has continued. January was Iraq's bloodiest month since the withdrawal, with 255 people killed in sectarian-related attacks. At least 193 people were killed in September. Deaths hit a relative low in May, with 48 killed, according to an Associated Press count.

"Such attacks waged on almost monthly basis show that the terrorist groups are still strong and they are not scattered or in chaos as depicted by the government," said Hadi Jalo, a political analyst in Baghdad. "It shows also that the failing security forces have not moved a step forward in their war against terrorism."

John Travolta Massages The Legal System, Wins Court Face/Off ...

john travolta libel case dismissed robert randolph spa book

Look who's talking now ? John Travolta!

And he's saying whatever the heck he wants after a judge ruled the Saturday Night Fever star was well within his 1st Amendment right to talk smack about a dude who wrote a disparaging book.

Robert Randolph claimed JT was a gay bath house super-fan in his book You'll Never Spa in This Town Again.

The actor dismissed those claims in a statement suggesting the author was mentally unbalanced so Robert filed a civil action against him for libel!

But the judge sided with Mizter Travolta!!

Good for you, Johnny boy!

If someone writes a book about where you're sticking your swordfish, you should be given the opportunity to defend yourself!

6 Cool Things You Can Avoid And Prevent With The E-Cig | What is ...

Most people know of the harmful effects of smoking such as getting chronic diseases yet they continue to puff away. For a non-smoker, they may not understand why one would continue to smoke in full knowledge of the harmful effects. The smoker on the other hand knows how strong the addiction can be. Smoking is not good for your health and at the most extreme end, it can kill you.

To save your life when you still have it, quit smoking. If you cannot quit entirely, then embrace vaping. The e-cigarette emerged into the market almost a decade ago and most of those who embraced it are glad they are very much alive and made the switch. They save money, can hold babies and eat with peace.

As a smoker, you should understand that the addiction of a smoke is due to not only the nicotine but also the habits that go along with the act. Actually, it is the habits that trigger your cravings and make you desire the puff.

You probably are used to getting out with your workmates during lunchtime to puff as you talk about office politics. You began smoking because you and your brother did so to get away from the pressures at home and it has been a tradition ever since. For most smokers, smoking is not only about the nicotine. It is about the bonding moments and the friendships formed.

The e-cig takes away the harmful effects of smoking and retains the cherished moments for you. You still get to bond with family and friends, tap the cig on the table together and exhale together. It has the look and the feel of the cig but instead of the nicotine, you get to vape on a liquid.

This liquid that even has flavors is vaporized when burnt and then releases a great and dense vapor. It is the perfect and smokeless way to enjoy your dose of tobacco. Apart from preventing you landing in the hospital, the e-cig saves your social and emotional life as well.

1.?????? Avoid the social death of people avoiding you

Many people on the streets and at work will stop avoiding you. They do so because even if you chew gum or spray a good dose of mouthwash after a smoke, everything on you smells like smoke and not just your breath. The e-cig has no smell whatsoever.

2.?????? Avoid accidents

Some road accidents are caused by a smoker removing their head out the window to get a puff.

smokin

In the process, some may lose track of their driving or not have enough time to react to any sudden thing on the road. The percentage of such accidents is minimal but they exist. Save your life; avoid the accident on the road or a fire started by a butt.

3.?????? Deter bad eating habits

Many smokers do not eat well because of the effects of nicotine. Even when you have a chance to eat well, you have to leave the restaurant because you have to smoke. You do not finish your meal. Such bad eating habits bring bout other complications in the body from a lack of the necessary nutrients. Enjoy your e-cig in any restaurant as it does not emit any smoke and you can eat well anytime.

4.?????? Prevent bad work performance

Too many a times you have given your boss work, he or she did not like. You have lost a job here and there because you had to get a break to go out and smoke. With the e-cig, you simply vape from your desk. Enjoy yourself and give highly satisfactory work. Get those with the pen design and no one will be any wiser.

5.?????? Avoid financial death

The truth is cigarettes can be costly.

Just look at how much they cost you in a month. Now take that amount and slash in half. That is approximately, what e-cigs will cost you. Buy them online and with the offers you get, you will spend even less.

6.?????? Avoid aesthetic death

Beauty is important. Take the e-cig and say good-bye to the yellow teeth and brown fingernails. You will look lovely and still enjoy your dose. You may have to go to a dentist to get those teeth whitened but after that, you are sure they will remain that way. Besides, the e-cig uses recyclable parts and the vapor produced get absorbed into the air immediately without any harmful effects.

ChannelTrends: Why Elite Customer Service is Essential to ...

?Unless you have 100% customer satisfaction?you must improve.? ? Horst Schulz

Constant improvement is a mantra among IT channel companies, especially when it comes to the services they deliver and the clients that receive them. There?s no place for complacency in an industry as competitive as this, and owners have to keep their eyes, and business practices, focused properly on process upgrades and other enhancements to ensure their long-term success. Identifying the areas where a company needs improvement can be difficult, but making the changes that strengthen those services can be a more daunting task.

Good companies become great by tightening the screws on their processes, streamlining and automating each step involved in service delivery and support. They review their metrics and assess their performance based on industry benchmarks constantly, looking for new ways to improve their operations and their level of customer service. When everything is running optimally within the business, they can focus more time and attention on both current and prospective clients. The same principle applies to IT solution providers, vendors and distributors.

In order to reach the point of eternal service enlightenment, most successful companies continually:

  1. Perform internal operational assessments.
  2. Seek client feedback; current, former and prospective.
  3. Implement industry best practices.

Frequency is often the stumbling block for smaller organizations, especially in the harried world of an emerging solution provider. How do you find time to conduct all the necessary steps on a weekly, monthly or even quarterly basis?

It?s not easy, but companies in search of greatness make it a high priority ? on par with their sales and operational responsibilities. After all, when an organization offers top quality service, it can make many of the other business operations a lot easier. Life for the sales, marketing and customer retention teams is much simpler when they?re not putting out fires, allowing them to focus more time and energy on growing the business.

So how do good companies gain the service expertise and knowledge needed to be great?? A number of them seek the input of their peers and related industry experts, and engage in meaningful discussions with those who face similar challenges and opportunities. The CompTIA IT Services and Support (ITSS) Community has provided that type of forum for several years, bringing together a myriad of services-dependent solution providers, vendors, distributors and industry professionals. Their meetings offer much more than networking opportunities and brainstorming sessions; they collaborate to develop key initiatives and best practices to improve the industry.

ITSS is the original CompTIA peer group, serving as stepping stone for many of the association?s other communities that are actively engaged in specific vertical markets and technologies. Several of those groups came about from a specific initiative or work session developed by services members, and providers continue to benefit from joining the discussion in each.

Service is a foundational element of all CompTIA communities. This quality will be on display when the ITSS, Managed Print Services, and Mobility groups gather together in Fort Worth, Texas on October 29 to 30 for the CompTIA IT Services and Support Community Meeting. This joint meeting agenda is packed with discussions and topics to help solution providers or any IT services-oriented professional improve their businesses. Several of the scheduled activities focus on service delivery transformation, including:

  • A keynote presentation by Steven Young, senior director of service delivery transformation with Cisco Technical Services.
  • A panel presentation with members of all three participating communities.
  • Roundtable from the perspective of each group.

In the joint meeting, members will also explore a number of the issues facing the IT services industry and initiatives that each community could adopt for 2013 to explicitly address those concerns and/or opportunities. Whether you?d like to attend the multiple-group event or just learn more about the ITSS and other CompTIA communities, contact Cathy Alper at ?CAlper@comptia.org.

How to Have Better Air in Your Office and Improve ... - Our Home Tools

?

6079957450 42751e1864 How to Have Better Air in Your Office and Improve Productivity

If you are a manager or a CEO then the happiness and well being of your staff is your responsibility, and it?s up to you to make sure that everyone is comfortable at work and safe from harm. This is why health and safety is such an important issue in business, and this is something that many companies are very hot on and very busy enforcing. Most businesses then will invest a lot of money into ensuring that their working environments are safe and clean and will come down hard on staff members ignoring these rules.

However it?s not just the obvious hazards we need to be aware of ? not just the nails sticking up from the floor or the slippery surfaces ? it?s also the more subtle problems like the quality of the air which can make staff uncomfortable and potentially lead to illness over time. Here we will look at how you can make sure your air stays clean and fresh and that your staff are able to work at the best of their ability.

5997001123 a3bee2035c How to Have Better Air in Your Office and Improve Productivity

Air Conditioning: Having air conditioning is an important way to keep your office air not just clean, but also the right temperature to ensure that your staff can breathe easily and don?t get too hot or cold. Your air conditioning should also filter and clean the air of the bacteria that can easily circulate around the office and which can cause illness. Which brings us to our next point?

Encourage Sick Days: You might be loath to let your staff take the day of sick but ask yourself this: would you rather one staff member was ill for a few days, or that your whole office got ill and no one was as productive as they were before? Because if you have someone coughing and sneezing in your office then this will get into the air and it will cause problems.

Air Freshener: Air freshener does what it says on the box and keeps your air smelling fresh and clean. This is very important if you want to make sure that your staff are feeling awake and happy and even if the difference is subtle you?d be surprised how much more alert and productive an air freshener can make a room of people.

Keep Windows Closed: The other reason to get air conditioning is so that you can keep the windows shut without things getting too hot. The reason you want to keep the windows shut is that otherwise you will find you let in all kinds of pollutants from traffic outside as well as dust and allergens which can aggravate the breathing of your staff.

Get Your Cleaning Done: Make sure you invest in goof cleaning services to take out the trash regularly and clean all your surfaces. This will prevent nasty smells from developing and help to combat mold.

2378421164 11794fa8a6 How to Have Better Air in Your Office and Improve Productivity

Get Rid of Mold: Some mold might still be an issue though if your office air is moist or if you have a leak somewhere. Make sure then that you combat this with some bleach and a rough sponge to make sure that it doesn?t cause illness in your staff and damage your property.

Keep the Heating Constant: Keeping a constant heat can also help to aid concentration and comfort, and making sure it doesn?t drop below a certain level can also avoid the development of mold in the first place. Consider your heating an important investment that will pay off in the long run by increasing productivity.

JP Morgan Invests ?Significant Double Digit Millions? In Another Rocket Internet Fashion Site, Asia?s Zalora

Screen Shot 2012-09-25 at 11.30.50Less than a month after reportedly sinking $40-80 million into Lamoda, Rocket Internet's "Russian Zappos", JP Morgan is investing once again in the Samwer brothers and their vision for a global e-commerce operation: the latest is Zalora, Rocket Internet's fashion site based in Singapore and operating across seven countries in South East Asia. The investment comes just eight months after the site has launched. As is usual with investments in Rocket Internet companies, the company is not officially disclosing the terms of the deal but someone close to the company tells me the value is in the "significant double digit millions" of dollars, on a company that is apparently making double-digit millions of dollars in annualized revenue.

7 tips for playing 'Borderlands 2' with friends

11 hrs.

You may think that the best thing about "Borderlands 2" is the guns.?

And, well, you might be right. At least in part. Like the first (much loved) "Borderlands" game, "Borderlands 2" is a?first-person-shooter/role-playing?mashup that finds players on a distant planet, scooping up a stunning array of guns (there are?"millions and millions" of them)?that must then be?used to take on a wildly?colorful host of bad guys and even badder creatures.

But give this game some real playtime and you'll discover that, like the first "Borderlands," what really makes?"Borderlands 2" tick is the people you play with.?The new game ??which drops players onto the planet of Pandora for a gun-filled, madcap treasure hunting adventure ??is specially made to be played cooperatively with up to four people. And playing together ??guns blazing ??is an absolute, well, blast.

"Co-op is at the heart of everything we do here," Gearbox Software's?Randy Varnell, the?design producer for "Borderlands 2," told me during a recent interview. And, he said, this time around, the co-op gameplay has been beefed up and polished up?even more.

"It definitely has grown up," he said, explaining that they've added new features such as?online?split-screen gameplay?as?well as the new Bandit Technical?vehicle that lets four players ride and gun together. There's also new enemies that are "far more challenging."?(Watch out for?Terramorphous?the Invincible????a very big, very bad boss?that will take four very skilled, very powerful players to take down.)

Meanwhile,?"You look at how we?ve designed the classes and?abilities, and?you?re going to find even more ways to play with your friends," Varnell said.

But playing well with others isn?t always easy. And so?I asked Varnell for some tips on how players can make the most of their "Borderlands 2"?co-op game. Here was his advice:

1.?Mix?and match the?characters?in your team
There are?four new character classes in "Borderlands 2" ??Axton the?Commando,?Maya the?Siren,?Salvador the Gunzerker and?Zer0 the?Assassin (see top photo). They each have different strengths and different sets of?skills you can put to use?as you play. And while you can play the same character your friends are playing when you play together, Varnell says you?really should mix it up.

"To?get?the most out of co-op, I would say pick a couple of different classes," he said. "And even?more important than that, make a?plan (more on that below). Each class has three skill trees. And?we really spent a lot of time with 'Borderlands 2' making sure each skill tree is?different."

Play?Maya the Siren, for example, and follow the skill tree known as "Harmony" and you'll end up with a character who has?some really great?healing powers that can be a big?help to your team. If you put her?Harmony skills to use, she will be able to instantly revive a dying friend?from a distance and she can even?fire healing bullets at her own teammates.

Meanwhile, Salvador the Gunzerker has a "Brawn" skill tree that ramps up his physical toughness.

"He has a lot of abilities that just turn him into the guy?who can wade into the middle of a fight and take all the damage from the?enemies and distract them," Varnell says. "Which is a really popular tactic?in co-op."

These are the kinds of things you should take some time to think about before you start a?co-op game because it will really pay off in the long run.

"Especially if you?re playing with more than two players, I almost?always say get a Maya in your group and go Harmony," Varnell said, adding, "A Salvador in the Brawn tree and a?Maya in the Harmony tree would be really awesome together."

2.?Have a strategy
"All of our characters have different things they?can do and different ways you can play them," Varnell said. "Talk with your friends. Even if you?re match-making with someone online, we have built-in voice chat now so say hello and say, 'Hey, how are you playing your Salvador? Are you sniping or going?melee?with Zer0? Are you support Maya or damage Maya?'

"Try understanding how the other player is playing their character and adapt?to their play style," Varnell advises. "There are lots of different strategies, but finding one that works in your group is a really great thing to do."

3.?Be?nice?... and share?(sometimes)
You can play "Borderlands 2" split-screen with a friend sitting?beside you on the couch?or you can let?the game's online?matchmaking put you together with strangers. ?But no matter how you're connecting or?who you're playing with,?"Be nice," Varnell says.?"I think that?s a general rule for all of life."

Sure, a little friendly competition is?part of the game.?Because "Borderlands 2" is set on Pandora ??a planet alive with a very wild?wild-west spirit ? the game involves competing?to see who gets the best loot:?awesome guns, cash and other goodies that appear in the game as you explore the world?and defeat enemies.

"When a?gun drops,?we don?t give you two copies. You have to decide who?gets that piece of loot," Varnell says. "We think that?s really important and that's actually?one of the most interesting parts of co-op. But you know, be nice and be?considerate. If someone else is using sniper rifles and a good sniper rifle?drops, you should probably let them have it. And vice?versa. When that shotgun you?ve always wanted drops,?they should probably let you have it.

"It really is one of those great heartwarming, awesome teambuilding experiences," Varnell says. "And I?m not trying to be clich? here. It really is?awesome when you play with a great team and you have that kind of graciousness?and you think of each other."

4.?Save?your friends when they need saving
Pay?attention to what the other people on your team are doing because with all those bullets and baddies flying?they may need you ??and need you badly ??at any moment.

"Borderlands 2" features Second Wind and Revive mechanics. That is, if?during a battle you're badly injured and lose all of your health, you will go into a "down state." At that point,?you have a certain?amount of time? to try to kill an?enemy on your own, which will will revive you and get you?back up in the fight. During that limited time,?you can also?recover if a?friend comes over and revives you.

"Taking??a moment to go and bring a friend back into the fight can?be really, really important," Varnell said. "Having two people up in a fight is going to take the?enemies down faster and it's going to help the fight go a whole lot better."

And for those of you worried about taking damage and risking your own life?while you?revive your teammate, Varnell offers this important tip: "When you are reviving a co-op teammate, you actually take less?damage from enemies."

Being the hero really does pay off.

5.?Look?for those?Class Mods
Class Mods?are items that can be found or bought in Borderlands (check those hidden?lockers and chests, people) or earned for completing missions. They are upgrades that give an added boost to your character's abilities. But perhaps even?more importantly, some of them can give a?boost to?the entire team.

"There are things like Team Health Regeneration, Team Ammo Regeneration ??which is really cool ??and Team Shield Capacity," Varnell says. "What?s really cool,?especially if you play with?a three or four-person?co-op group, is if you hunt down those Class Mods that have?those team abilities on them and everybody has one of those. Man, it makes?your team super powerful."

6.?Take the time to hear the story?and dialog
Varnell points out that, with "Borderlands 2," Gearbox really took the time to beef up and flesh out the story and the world that players experience.

"The?world of Pandora is an?amazingly quirky, fun, odd place. It has lot of story and?dialog," he says. "And a lot of that dialog?is spoken now. In fact, there is some incredible voice acting?in the game."

And so he advises players to take the time to hear the dialog and pay attention to the story. And that means,?when?playing?with friends, you have to be especially careful and respectful of what your teammates are doing.

For example,?"In the hub city of Sanctuary, there are eight or 10?different missions immediately available, and if everyone accepts a?different mission?at the same time you're going to stomp on the order of the dialog," he explains. "It will create a less-than-ideal?experience if you don?t pay attention to what other people are doing.

"So my pro-tip for people who want to engage in the story and appreciate and understand that story,?is take some time. Let the mission play out and?let people hear what?s going on there," he says.

Which leads us to...

7. Enjoy the journey
"It?s a big, wild,?weird place and it's full of fun," Varnell says of "Borderlands 2." "A lot of people are rushing through because they want to be the first to reach?the level cap and they want to be the?first to finish the story, but there?s a lot to experience. This is a big game.?Enjoy it. Enjoy it?at your own?pace."

Mark Schaefer (Schaefer Marketing Solutions) shared this news with his Facebook community this morning:

Mark Schaefer speaks to Fortune 100

Click through to the original post on Mark's Facebook profile

Can you relate to the ?social marketing skeptic? as he began to see what Mark sees?

Those of us who are successfully using social media to engage with, network, and build relationships with our target audiences can all remember the moment in time when we first recognized the power behind the human dynamics in social marketing.

My ?A-Ha!? Moment: The Stage Is Set

My ?A-ha!? moment came in 2010, several months after we?d started blogging and using social media. I?d been actively and intentionally building relationships with New Englanders on Twitter, focusing on business owners and vendors, two sectors of our own target audience for WordPress websites and marketing-oriented videos. Bruce Garber, a New England videographer, was tweeting about an upcoming networking breakfast called Southern New England Media Makers. Scott went to the breakfast and connected with photographers, videographers, and other ?media makers.? Watch the short SNEMM Video Roll Call from that breakfast here, to see who was there:

?

I watched the video myself, took note of the attendees, then set about reaching out to and building relationships on Twitter with each one. All this time, while building relationships by simply being myself, expressing genuine interest in others? lives and businesses, and connecting people with one another, I was writing blog posts about internet and buzz marketing, social media tips, and business topics, always thinking about what our target audience would be interested in, sharing links to our blog posts on several social media platforms, and driving traffic to our website.

From Twitter to Beer (and Club Soda with Extra Lemon)

Soon after that networking breakfast, Scott and I got together with one of the SNEMM attendees, George Ross, a world-class sports photographer and experienced SEO-focused marketer. We traded stories and experiences, talked about marketing and life, and deepened our budding friendship. Not long after our Beer and Club Soda Summit, George contacted us about a local business that needed very specialized help with their existing WordPress website. Here?s where everything came together: By then, George knew and trusted us enough to put his own reputation on the line by referring us to the business in need. Scott reached out to the business and advised them, we took over the account, and we still hold that account to this day.

That account was our very first procured through relationships originally started on Twitter. That was my ?A-ha!? moment about social marketing, and from there, everything changed in our business. Building and nurturing real relationships, helping people, connecting, and being mindful of the needs of others became the driving force behind everything we do at New England Multimedia, reflecting the way Scott and I live our lives offline anyway. It?s been a natural fit for us.

Who Do You Trust the Most?

In ?The Staggering Power of Peer-to-Peer Influence? we shared some not-so-surprising statistics about influence, trust, and consumer behavior that bear out what we?ve experienced. According to the Nielsen Global Trust in Advertising Survey, 92% of consumers say they trust recommendations from friends and family above all other forms of advertising. For New England Multimedia, the relationships we?ve built online have radically changed the way we ?find? new customers, engage and nurture relationships with existing and former customers, and build mutually-beneficial relationships.

Social marketing is here to stay.

Who needs a car head unit when you have a Galaxy S3?

SGS3 Dashboard

Looking for something to replace that lackluster 8-Track, cassette, or CD player that came with your car? Instead of using some goofy adapter or FM transmitter, why not replace the entire unit with a Samsung Galaxy S III?

That was the train of thought for Steve, aka youtube user philstuffs. He had an old JVC head unit that just wasn't cutting it. So instead of spend the money on a stand-alone head unit for his vehicle, he used his trusty SGS3. He modified a standard car charger so the phone charges when the car is on and he hooked up the audio-out from his phone to the amplifier in his trunk. Simple and effective.

Before you get on his case for the phone not being centered, he knows this. He states in his youtube video description that he still needs to come up with a "prettier facia" and is even thinking about using fiberglass.

What I want to know is: How does he take the phone with him when he leaves the vehicle? From the looks of it, that facia he cooked up is removable, and he can unhook his SGS3 and be on his way. Not the most practical solution. Maybe his final design will be more practical and user friendly.

Would you replace your entire head unit with your smartphone? How do you listen to music from your phone in your car? Let us know in the comments. Video after the break.
